Did you know that drowning is the leading cause for unintentional injury and deaths of children age 4 and younger? The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that children 4 and under always have a parent or caregiver present when they are near water, including the tub.
As part of National Bath Safety Awareness Month, we wanted to to put a spotlight on safe bath-time practices to keep your little ones happy and healthy. Read on for some helpful tips and enter to win a special green sprouts Bath Time Bundle giveaway!
Bath Time Safety Tips
* NEVER leave your child unattended, even for a minute. Accidents can happen in a flash, and babies can drown in less than an inch of water. If you need to leave for any reason, bundle your little one up and take them with you.
* Establish a comfortable room temperature so your little one doesn’t get chilled, and always test the water before you put your baby in the tub.
* Don’t put your baby in the tub with the water running, as the temperature can change, and you don’t want the water level to get too high. Two to four inches of bathing water is recommended.
* Keep at least one hand on your baby, and have all your supplies within easy reach–towels, toys, baby-friendly soap, etc.
* Use a non-slip bath mat so that your little one stays put as they are being bathed.
* Make bath time fun! Stacking Cup Sets, Organic Splash Toys, and Bath Puppets that double as mitts will keep your little one entertained while you get down to business.
* When bath time is over, bundle your little one up in a soft organic Hooded Towel and gently dry them off so you can be ready for your next adventure!

My tip to get through bathtime with a baby who may not like it is to teach them how to splash. Yes, it’ll be messy but while they’re busy splashing, they won’t pay attention to the fact that you’re bathing them

we have one of the bath puppets you guys make, and my son LOVES it!
One tip I have is if you have much older children, they can enjoy play time with baby in the bath. My ten year old son really helps me out with a little bath time play and watching my one year old in the tub, then I will quickly come in and soap the baby up, rinse and take him, so my older son can finish up alone. It saves me time and I get to have a few minutes to do something else like pick up toys, take out trash, etc. The boys love their bath time play together.

favorite bathtime story was when my neice turned 3 years old we wrote happy birthday all over the bathtub and shower with those in shower crayons she loved it it was so much fun! she thought it was so cool to write all over the bath tub. the toy i like the most is the crab. trips and tricks is to make sure you have all your things you need for a bath. and have a bath mat. and always test the water.

It is his time with her to be silly and make a mess. I think he enjoys it just as much as she does, if not more.
Lucas is 9 months old and I’ve moved him from the whale tub, to the sink and now to the tub this past month.
